| The Data Switch is used where there are
insufficient I/O ports on the PABX stsem to connect all the required terminal equipment.
The Data Switch is placed between the PABX port and the terminal equipment i.e. Printer,
MAT Terminal etc. The Data Switch also connects to a Modem to allow external access to
the PABX port.
When the modem port becomes active the Data Switch disconnects the terminal equipment and
connects the PABX directly to the modem.
When transmission is completed the Data Switch returns to it’s idle state.
This switch can be used on Networks, where data collection of TIMS information may be
required.
